A show with heart?
Just when you thought reality TV couldn't get any weirder, ABC has ordered 13 episodes of "The Chair" (working title), a quiz show in which contestants' heart rates are monitored. Really.
Contestants answer questions while attached to a cardiac monitor. If they get a right answer without their base rate exceeding a predetermined level, they win bucks and keep playing. Really.
If their pitter-pats get too fast, their money slowly goes bye-bye.
No host yet, believe it or not.
Julia gets 'Friend'-ly
Julia Roberts will be host of "Old Friends," an A & amp;E documentary about three lifelong women friends, all over 100. It debuts in 2002.
'Buffy' creator's latest
Fox has ordered 13 episodes of "Firefly," a new sci-fi drama from Joss Whedon, creator of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." It's targeted to launch in the fall.
Set 500 years in the future, "Firefly" centers on the crew of a small transport spaceship. The project reunites Whedon with Fox Entertainment chief Gail Berman, who as an independent producer shepherded the development of "Buffy."
