Shows blacked out
Armstrong Cable customers who watch "Family Feud," "Friends" and "The People's Court" on Cleveland TV station WUAB Channel 43 need to make alternative viewing plans. Beginning Monday, Armstrong will black out those programs on WUAB because WYTV Channel 33 of Youngstown also shows them, albeit at different times. The Federal Communications Commission permits stations to exercise the "syndicated exclusivity" law in their own markets.
Armstrong will black out WUAB's weekday broadcasts of "Family Feud" from 12:30 to 1 p.m.; "The People's Court" from 2 to 3 p.m.; and "Friends" from 7 to 7:30 p.m. Alternative programs will not be shown, Armstrong general manager Paul Wachtel says.
WYTV broadcasts "The People's Court" from 9 to 10 a.m.; "Family Feud" from noon to 12:30 p.m.; and "Friends" from 5:30 to 6 p.m.
