Ensemble takes singers
YOUNGSTOWN -- Seraphim musical ensemble is accepting singers for its second season of performances. The chamber chorus and orchestra will be featured in four sets of concerts: "I Could Have Danced All Night," Oct. 27-28, featuring Brahm's Liebeslieder waltzes; "Christmas Traditions New and Old," Dec. 7-9, featuring the Christmas portion of Handel's "Messiah" and holiday favorites as arranged by Mannheim Steamroller; "Loving Couples," March 2-3, with a performance of Purcell's opera "Dido and Aeneas"; and "Absolutely Amadeus," May 18-19, a Mozart marathon with compositions from the choral, concerto, opera and symphonic genres.

Gospel music
WARREN -- Several local gospel musicians and groups will join Luther Barnes & amp; The Sunset Jubilaires of Rocky Mountain, N.C., on stage at 5 p.m. Oct. 20 at W.D. Packard Music Hall, 1703 Mahoning Ave. N.W. The locals are Mighty Golden Wonders, ministers Ben Hurt and Michelle Stevenson, Bishop Leo Ferguson, Arma Austin-Ford, Mission for Lost Souls Choir and New Freedom Baptist Choir, among others. Dancers to appear
FRANKLIN, Pa. -- National swing dance champions Angel & amp; Debbie Figueroa of New York and U.S. Open swing champion Beata Howe of Los Angeles will appear at the fourth annual "Dance for Dreams" country western dance competition Sept. 7-9 at Inn at Franklin.
