YOUNGSTOWN -- Third Baptist Church will have its annual deacons day event at 3:30 p.m. Aug. 25. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Ernest Ellis, pastor of Antioch Baptist Church. Refreshments will follow the service.
End-times program
NILES -- Alpha & amp; Omega Ministries will have a program on the seven churches of Asia and the biblical revelations of the end-times. The programs will be at 7 p.m. Tuesdays through August.
Musician selected
NILES -- Minister Ben Hurt of Greater Apostolic Faith Church will represent the Mahoning Valley at the International Gospel Music Workshop of American next week in Detroit. He'll perform in the new artist showcase since he plans to release a CD this fall. He is represented by Alpha & amp; Omega Productions.
Crosses display
COLUMBIANA -- Midway Mennonite Church will erect 892 white crosses from 3 to 5 p.m. today that represent the number of abortions in Mahoning County in 2000, the latest year for which numbers are available. The crosses from Mahoning County Right to Life will remain up through Labor Day.
Concert set
POLAND -- Dave and Darlene Murdoch will sing gospel music at 7 p.m. Aug. 23 at The Old Barn Out Back at Poland Village Baptist Church. It will be the final summer concert. People should bring seating. An offering will be taken. Call (330) 757-9258.
