AUTO INDUSTRY
LORDSTOWN -- David Gibbons, an Austintown native and formerly an engineer and manager at the General Motors Assembly plant in Lordstown, has been named plant manager of the Opel Eisenach GmbHplant in Eisenach, Germany, a part of General Motors Europe. The plant produces two small cars, the Opel Astra and the Opel Corsa, neither of which is sold in the United States.
Gibbons graduated in 1980 as a valedictorian at Austintown Fitch High School, earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the General Motors Institute and a master's degree in engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. He held several engineering and management positions at the Lordstown plant before moving to Germany in 1996.
COMMUNITY SERVICE
CANFIELD -- Lisa Swift is the new executive assistant to the executive director for the Mahoning Valley American Cancer Society in Canfield. She had been an administrative assistant for Hallrich Inc. and has a bachelor's degree in psychology from Youngstown State University. She lives in North Jackson.
CANTON -- Bradley Vincent has been promoted to executive director of Siffrin Residential Association in Canton. He is a graduate of Baldwin Wallace College. The association is a nonprofit agency that serves the residential and support needs of people with developmental disabilities in Stark, Summit, Mahoning and Trumbull counties.
HEALTH CARE
LAKE MILTON -- Dr. Gordon Byrne has joined the staff at the Family Health Center in Lake Milton, a holistic health-care facility. Dr. Byrne graduated from Life University School of Chiropractic in Marietta, Ga., and has a bachelor's degree in nutrition. He will continue as clinical director of Girard Chiropractic Center in Girard and as a captain in the U.S. Army Reserve.
FINANCE
WARREN -- James Duncan Jr., a certified public accountant and former CSC Ltd. executive, has joined Tatum CFO, a national firm of chief financial officers, as a partner in the Pittsburgh area. Duncan worked more than 20 years in manufacturing and the steel industry, holding positions with CSC in Warren, Copperweld Steel Co. and LTV Steel.
TRUCKING
WARREN -- Patrick Nelson, a Warren resident, has been hired as director of logistics by Nicholas Enterprises Inc. in Butler, Pa. and will be in charge of transportation logistics at the company's Ohio River and Allegheny River terminals. Formerly of Sharpsville, Nelson joined the company from PI & amp;I Motor Express in Masury.
TELEMARKETING
AUSTINTOWN -- InfoCision Management Corp. has promoted Ayanna Mills of Boardman to program supervisor in its operations department in Austintown. She joined the company in 1996 and until recently was a call center trainer.
ACCOUNTING
BOARDMAN -- Hill, Barth & amp; King LLC, certified public accountants and business consultants, has hired nine new staff accountants, including the following to be based locally: Erica Chamberlain, a graduate of Youngstown State University, to be based in the Youngstown office; Tamara Gruskiewicz, a Thiel College graduate based in Boardman; Michael Kapics, a YSU graduate based in Boardman; Robert Marut, a Clarion University graduate based in Meadville, Pa.; Jaclyn Peterson, a Thiel College graduate based in Sharon; and Feng Wang, a graduate of the University of Akron and Beijing, China to be based in Alliance.
The company also announced the following promotions: Christine Jickess of the Boardman office and Ken Kimble of the Warren office, both named managers; Becky Brian and Dina Carabbia of the Boardman office, Amer Husain of the Alliance office and Melissa Turner of the Youngstown office, all named supervisors; Edyta Durr and Matt Kaulen, both of the Boardman office, named senior accountants.
