Augusta National has lengthened nine of the 18 holes, adding a maximum of 285 yards. ... Nick Price set the 18-hole record of 9-under 63 in 1986, and Greg Norman matched it in 1996. Mark Calcavecchia set the back-nine mark of 7-under 29 in 1992, and David Toms matched it in 1998. ... Six-time winner Jack Nicklaus withdrew last week because of back problems. Four-time champion Arnold Palmer is playing in his 48th Masters. ... Augusta National is celebrating the 100th anniversary of Bobby Jones' birth. The club and course founder died in 1971 at 69. ... The WorldCom Classic is next week in Hilton Head Island, S.C.
