Accident injures family members

POLAND -- A Struthers couple and their three children were taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center after an accident Saturday afternoon in Poland Township.
The Ellis family -- Jeffrey, 52; Jeannie, 40; Jeffrey Jr., 15; Errin, 14; and Keri, 13, all of Eighth Street, Struthers -- were in a Plymouth Voyager on North Lima Street near Spitler Road when the accident occurred, police said.
Jeannie Ellis was taken to the hospital by helicopter.
One member of the family was in critical condition Saturday night, while four were being treated in the emergency room. A hospital official did not name the family member in critical condition.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the crash occurred about 5:20 p.m., while the older Jeffrey Ellis was driving the minivan north on North Lima Road.
The van failed to make a curve, going off the right side of the road and hitting a ditch and a utility pole. The van overturned on its side.
