PENNSYLVANIA Property tax, rent rebate clinics are set

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- State Rep. Dick Stevenson of Grove City, R-8th, will conduct three Property Tax/Rent Rebate clinics for senior citizens, widows and widowers and permanently disabled people over 18.
Stevenson said his staff will be assisted by the local Area Agency on Aging in Mercer, Butler and Armstrong counties.
The Mercer clinic is set for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 8 at Stevenson's district office at 234 Pine St.
There will be a clinic in Butler from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 5 at the Slippery Rock Senior Center at 203 Branchton Road, Slippery Rock, and another in Armstrong County at Stevenson's district office in Kittanning at 162 N. Jefferson St.
The state made some changes in the Property Tax/Rent Rebate regulations in 1999 and the clinics will bring those changes to the attention of those eligible for the assistance, Stevenson said.
Those attending should bring proof of their 2000 income from the Social Security Administration, SSI payments, any pensions, wages, annuities, IRA distributions, interest, dividends and capital gains along with proof of age, 2000 property tax bills or 2000 rent receipts.
