LIMELIGHT Awards, achievements



CHAMPION - James Williams, owner of Williams Photography in Champion, has been invited to speak at the Professional Photographers of Ohio Mid-East regional photography convention March 11 in Columbus. Williams will present a program on what today's high school seniors are looking for in their graduation portraits. He has been operating his full-service photography studio since 1985.
HUBBARD -- Ohio Lottery Commission recognized One Stop Superette at 2590 N. Main St., Hubbard, and owner Elva Gummo as its Retailer of the Week. The shop was to be featured on the Lottery's Cash Explosion Double Play television program Saturday.
SHARON -- Winner Advertising in Sharon won three Telly Awards for its television commercials promoting The Winner Store, Winner International and a group of regional advertisers, the Four Friends. The national Telly Award presentation recognizes outstanding television commercials, video productions and films. Winner creative director Lynette Bohn, co-director Ed Donald and a team of graphic designers created the award-winning commercials.
CANFIELD -- The marketing team for Century 21 Mill Creek Realty Group won first place for outstanding newspaper advertising and second place for realtor promotions in the Ohio Association of REALTORS Awards competition. The awards were based on excellence of design, effectiveness of approach and successful presentation of the firm's image.
SHARON -- Kathy D. Prokay, a certified public accountant for The Dolan Group in Sharon, has earned her designation as a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor. She is a graduate of Grove City College.
HUBBARD -- Virginia Ottenberg, an Allstate insurance agent based in Hubbard, has earned the company's Personal Finance Representative title. The designation qualifies her to provide her customers with variable annuity, variable life and mutual fund products, in addition to traditional insurance products.
AUSTINTOWN -- Marcus Thomas LLC, an advertising agency with offices in Austintown and Cleveland, won best-of-show awards in the print and broadcast categories in the recent ADDY awards in Akron. The firm also took home 24 awards, the second-highest number, from the ADDY awards in Cleveland. ADDY awards are the American Advertising Federation's equivalent of the Oscars. Marcus-Thomas, which formed in July when Ira Thomas Associates merged with Marcus Advertising in Cleveland, won its print best of show award for a poster campaign it produced for the chemical dependency program at St. Joseph's Health Center in Warren.
