HOWARD G. HUXSAW, 84



CANFIELD -- Services will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Lane Funeral Home, Canfield Chapel, for Howard G. Huxsaw, 84, of 37 Hood Drive, who died of complications of a heart disease, late Friday in Austinwoods Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
Mr. Huxsaw was born Oct. 4, 1916, in Canfield, a son of Frederick and Maud F. Moherman Huxsaw, and was a lifelong area resident. He was a carpet installer for Alfred Hammar & amp; Sons of Youngstown from age 19 until his retirement in 1979, and after retirement, he occasionally worked for Hammar Carpet Cleaners. A 1935 graduate of Canfield High School, he was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, serving with the 313th Fighter Squadron.
His wife, the former Mary H. Lewis, whom he married Aug. 18, 1945, died Jan. 21, 2000.
Among others, he leaves a son, Charles of Bedford, Mass.; two sisters, Jean Carver of Canfield and Norma Yoder of Snellville, Ga.; a brother, Elmer of Canfield; and four grandchildren.
Two brothers, Orville and Donald, are deceased.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. until services at the funeral home.
