FRED Y. McLURE, 92 Principal at New Castle Senior High

NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Epworth United Methodist Church for Fred Y. McLure, 92, of 227 E. Fairmont Ave., who died Friday in Jameson Memorial Hospital.
Mr. McLure was born Nov. 4, 1908, in New Castle, a son of E.A. and Jo Anna Young McLure. He was principal at New Castle Senior High School, George Washington and Mahoning schools. A graduate of Slippery Rock State Teachers College, he was a member of the church, where he taught Sunday school for more than 50 years, and was a member of New Castle Lodge #642, New Castle Consistory and Retired Teachers Association.
Besides his wife, the former Gertrude A. Pitzer, whom he married Aug. 13, 1935, he leaves a son, John F. of Pinehurst, N.C.; a sister, Doris M. Davies of Cape Cod, Mass.; and two grandchildren.
A brother, Herbert J. McLure, is deceased.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home, Wilmington Road. Contributions may be made to the church, at 805 E. Washington St., New Castle, Pa. 16101.
