ESTHER ELIZABETH HARDISKY, 84
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Smith Funeral Home, 1788 Perry Highway, Leesburg, for Esther Elizabeth Hardisky, 84, of #5 Mine, 2107 Leesburg-Grove City Road, who died late Friday in Grove Manor Nursing Home, Grove City, after a long illness.
Mrs. Hardisky was born Dec. 16, 1916, in #5 Mine, Springfield Township, Mercer County, a daughter of Emery and Esther Porkalob Horkey. A 70-plus-year member of Nazareth United Methodist Church, where she served as its Sunday school and vacation bible school teacher, she joined Drake Alliance Church of #2 Mine, Lawrence County, when Nazareth church closed. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening.
Besides her husband, John E., whom she married April 11, 1953, she leaves a son, Eric E. of Grove City; a brother, Ernest Horkey of Sharon, Pa.; a granddaughter; and a great-grandson.
A sister, Elizabeth Horkey, and a brother, James Horkey, are deceased.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
