60th anniversary of McCoys marked at dinner party
YOUNGSTOWN -- The 60th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Harold McCoy, 139 E. Auburndale Ave., was celebrated during a dinner party Feb. 22 at T.J.'s restaurant in the Holiday Inn South in Boardman.
Hosts of the festivity were the honorees' children and spouses, Terry and Cindy McCoy of Columbiana and Janet and Al Yacopi of Austintown, and their four grandchildren.
The former Margaret O'Brien and Mr. McCoy exchanged wedding vows Feb. 22, 1941, at St. Dominic Church rectory.
Mrs. McCoy, now retired, was a sales clerk at the former Strouss department store. She belongs to the Women of the Moose and the St. Dominic Altar and Rosary Guild, and is a member of the church.
Retiring in 1978, Mr. McCoy worked in data processing at U.S. Steel Co. McDonald Works. He is a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Chatter Box Men's Club and Pleasant Grove United Presbyterian Church. Mr. McCoy served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
