Two Penguins land positions on All-Mid-Con men's teams

Craig Haese was a first-teamer, while Ryan Patton was an honorable mention.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Craig Haese, a senior on the Youngstown State University men's basketball team, was selected to the All-Mid-Continent Conference first-teams in both the coaches and media polls.
YSU senior guard Ryan Patton was tabbed as an honorable mention selection by the coaches.
Haese led the Penguins with 14.1 points a game and has started 28 of 29 games.
The native of DePere, Wisc., has connected on a school-record 89 3-point goals and is 17th in the nation with 3.1 3-pointers a game.
He is the 27th player in YSU history to crack the 1,000-point mark in a career and stands at 1,019 before Sunday's first-round tournament game.
He has scored in double digits 21 of 28 games this year.
Coach's praise: "This is a tremendous honor for Craig," said second-year YSU coach John Robic.
"His leadership, scoring and all-around play are big reasons why this team has 19 victories. Craig is clearly one of the top shooters in this league and the nation."
Patton, a senior from Parma, leads the MCC in assists with 5.7 per game and is second on the team with 10.6 points per outing.
He registered a career-high 32 points at Western Illinois and 12 assists against Southern Utah in January.
"He has distributed the ball all year, picked his spots to score and has provided great point-guard play," Robic said.
The third-seeded Penguins (19-10, 11-5) will open conference tournament play Sunday at 8:15 p.m. against Oral Roberts (9-18, 5-11), the sixth seed, in Fort Wayne, Ind.
The game will be aired live on radio on stations WBBW-AM (1240), WPIC-AM (790) and WSOM-AM (600).
