JERRY L. BELCHYK, 63



STRUTHERS -- There are no services are calling hours for Jerry L. Belchyk, 63, of 85 Poland Ave., who died of cancer Wednesday afternoon at home.
Mr. Belchyk was born Feb. 9, 1938, in Ambridge, Pa., a son of Max and Aurelia Belchyk, and came to the area in 1946. A 1955 graduate of Struthers High School, he was a self-employed locksmith in Struthers for several years and retired from Youngstown Sheet & amp; Tube Co., where he had been a roll turner for 30 years.
He was an Army veteran and was a member of the 187th Parachute Infantry Regiment and the 11th Airborne and marched in the second inauguration parade for President Dwight D. Eisenhower.
He was also a member of Disabled American Veterans and several area bowling leagues.
Besides his wife, the former Mary Beil Byers, whom he married Oct. 8, 1999, he leaves a daughter, Victoria Lee Higham of Youngstown; a stepdaughter, Heidi Prest of Struthers; a stepson, David Byers of Boardman; a brother, Max Belchyk Jr. of Struthers; and seven grandchildren.
