ABWA Charter chapter recognizes member at dinner meeting



Contributions to community and family leads to an honor for club member.
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Youngstown Charter Chapter of the American Business Women's Association named Betty Mirich as the organization's Woman of the Year during a dinner meeting Feb. 20 in the Marble Room at Stambaugh Auditorium.
Recognized for her many contributions to her family, career, community, education and club, Mirich has been a member of the chapter since March 1979. She has had perfect attendance in ABWA for six years and was recognized in 1991 for her cooking abilities as a Vindicator "Good Cook."
She has served as treasurer of the chapter and has held leadership positions on numerous committees, including program, hospitality, education, courtesy, membership and ways and means.
Mirich is in charge of her precinct during elections at voting polls. She is also an avid bowler, is secretary for two leagues, and has won several trophies in the Senior Bowling Olympics.
She is employed as hall manager at Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, where she has worked as server during fish dinners at the church hall.
She and her husband, Peter Mirich, live in Austintown and have three sons and seven grandchildren.
