2 men arraigned in major drug case
YOUNGSTOWN -- Two men arrested in a drug raid earlier this week were arraigned Friday in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.
Ronald Henderson, 23, of Walter Street, Kent, and Keith Smith, 28, of Rush Boulevard pleaded innocent in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court to possession of cocaine, for which both were indicted Thursday by a county grand jury.
Bonds set: Judge Maureen A. Cronin set bonds of $100,000 for Smith and $50,000 for Henderson. Both were being held in the Mahoning County Jail. The men were arrested after a drug interdiction Wednesday at Interstate 76, which turned up about 4.4 pounds of suspected cocaine with a street value of about $200,000.
Because of the amount of drugs involved, prosecutors charged both men as major drug offenders, which could add from one to 10 years onto their prison terms if they are convicted.
