The Coaches: The Penguins' Ed DiGregorio is 301-202 in 18 seasons. The Golden Eagles are coached by Jerry Finkbeiner, who is 66-73 in five seasons.
Youngstown State starters: Monica Vicarel, 5-8 junior, 4.5 points, 2.6 rebounds; Jen Lyden, 5-6 senior, 7.1, 2.4; Amanda Scott, 6-1 senior, 2.6, 1.9; Alyson Vogrin, 5-11 senior, 13.7, 8.4; Heather Harris, 6-0 freshman, 7.7, 3.0.
Oral Roberts starters: Krista Ragan, 5-7 junior, 16.6, 3.1; Cori Williston, 5-7, freshman, 5.1, 2.0; Dana Whittaker, 5-9 senior, 6.1, 4.6; Shayne McKenzie 6-2 sophomore, 5.1, 3.7; Jennette Bolovinos, 6-2 junior, 10.8, 5.8.
Game notes: The Penguins finished the season with two straight losses, including a 77-52 thumping by Oakland University in the home finale last Monday. YSU is the seventh seed in the tournament, the lowest seed it been since joining the conference, except for the one year the Penguins failed to qualify for the tournament. Oral Roberts is the No. 2 seed after losing its season finale to UMKC 52-45, a loss that not only cost them the top seed in the tournament, but also a share of the conference regular season championship with Oakland.
The Series: Youngstown State holds a 5-4 edge, but Oral Roberts swept the Penguins this season, 74-71 in Tulsa and 69-58 in Youngstown.
