SKY BANK 2 smaller branches will be closed

THE VINDICATOR, YOUNGSTOWN
SALINEVILLE -- Sky Bank is closing its New Waterford branch June 1, and its Leetonia branch will close June 30.
Debra Bish, a spokeswoman, said bank officials decided to close the branches because they are smaller and have fewer amenities than other nearby Sky facilities. Sky Bank is based in Salineville.
All employees at the closing branches have been reassigned to other Sky locations, she said.
Customer accounts at the New Waterford branch will be transferred to the East Palestine branch, which Bish said is about four miles away.
Leetonia accounts have been transferred to the Washingtonville branch, which she said is about two miles away.
The company plans to construct a 24-hour drive-through ATM station in the parking lot of the New Waterford branch. Construction should begin soon, and plans are to have the facility in service before the branch closes.
Sky operates 108 branches and will have 11 branches in Columbiana County after the closings.
