ASSOCIATIONS
XBoardman-Canfield Branch of the American Association of University Women will meet at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center, Canfield. XYoungstown Panhellenic Association will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the D.D. and Velma Davis Education and Visitor Center at Fellows Riverside Gardens, Mill Creek Park, Youngstown. Gardening tips and a tour will be the program.
AUXILIARIES
XDistrict Eight Auxiliary to the VFW will meet Sunday at VFW 3767 in Hubbard. Breakfast will be served from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m., and registration will be held from 7:30 a.m. to noon. The business meeting is planned for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and members are asked to take items for a Chinese auction. Nonperishable food will be collected by Betty Jean Evans for needy veterans and their families, and Pat Malinowski will be in charge of the parade of transmittals. A joint memorial service will be held at 1 p.m.; auxiliaries should send a list of deceased members' names to Jeanne Hinkle, district secretary, as soon as possible. Faye and Joe Doyle, Youth Essay chairmen, will present district winners.
XEagles Auxiliary 3298 will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the aerie on Raccoon Road. Rosie Fabak and Lottie Majestic will be the hostesses.
XVFW 7538 Auxiliary will meet for dinner at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Elmton in Struthers. Dorothy McLaughlin will preside for the 7:30 p.m. business meeting. For the craft project participants should take a four-inch clay pot, 50-75 small green silk leaves, raffia or gold braid, white glue, gold glitter and a sponge brush.

LIBRARY GROUPS
XFriends of the Boardman Library will meet at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the library. Following a social, the meeting will begin at 10 and will feature Naomi McPeak as guest speaker on the topic of books. Guests are welcome; no reservation is required.
XFriends of the Poland Library will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Cunningham-Becker Family Center Room, 270 N. Main St., Poland. Guest speaker Paul Harkey, area manager of Ohio Edison Co., will discuss energy, electricity and how deregulation will affect the customer. Hostesses will be Jessie Torbron and Shirley Cagna.
POLITICAL CLUBS

XSpringfield Township Area Republican Women's Club will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Springfield Township Building. Members are asked to note the change in the day of meetings. Guest speaker will be Dr. Randall Gooden on the political history of Springfield Township.

XCourt St. Ann 1875, Catholic Daughter of Americas, will meet following the noon Mass Monday at Holy Name Church. Observed will be a day of recollection, election of a nominating committee and an auction of items donated by members. Hostesses will be Mary Torella and Sophie Meher.
XMothers of the Crucifix Society of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Youngstown will meet at 2 p.m. Sunday in the lower church hall. Caroline McCaffney will preside, and plans will be completed for a bingo/card party to be held April 29. Plans also will be made for the Feast Day dinner in May. Refreshments will be served, and new members are welcome.
XSt. Rose Altar and Rosary Society will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the lower church hall. Hostesses for the social will be Patricia Fleming and her committee. The Rev. Charles Poore will speak on the Day of Recollection.
