CLAUDE L. MORGAN Sr., 67
NEW WATERFORD -- Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Seederly-Mong & amp; Beck Funeral Home, North Lima, for Claude L. Morgan Sr., 67, of 46472 Crestview Road, who died Wednesday afternoon in Cleveland Clinic of pneumonia. He had been ill one month.
Born March 19, 1933, in Mineral Wells, Texas, he was a son of Oscar W. and Mary R. Burch Morgan, and moved here in 1968.
He retired in 1996 from Leaseway Transportation in Lordstown, where he worked as a car hauler for 12 years. Before that, he was a supervisor for Harriett Trucking in East Palestine. He also had worked for Anchor Motor Freight, a division of Leaseway, where he was a member of the Million Mile Club.
He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War, a member of American Legion Post 290 of Columbiana and the Masonic lodge in Odessa, Texas, and received a truck driver safety award four times from the American Trucking Association.
Besides his wife, the former Martha A. Jones, whom he married Oct. 6, 1968, he is survived by one daughter, Christy Cook of New Waterford; a son, Claude Jr. of New Waterford; two brothers, Joe of Webster, Texas, and Oscar of Comanche, Texas; and four grandchildren.
Two sisters are deceased.
Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
