Cardinal board decidesto buy 2 firetrucks
CANFIELD -- The Cardinal Joint Fire District board has decided to purchase two new firetrucks from an Ocala, Fla., dealership for $511,000.
One of the new trucks, a rescue pumper, will be stationed at the main firehouse where it will replace a 1996 truck, which will be switched to the Messerly Road fire station.
The other new truck, a pumper built on a custom-made fire engine chassis, will be stationed at Messerly Road.
The fire district will sell a 1978 pumper truck after the new engines arrive, fire chief Robert Tieche said.
