YOUNGSTOWN -- Services will be at noon Monday in Antioch Baptist Church for Arthur James Carter Jr., 46, of 311 N. Garland Ave., who died of complications of asthma Tuesday in St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Mr. Carter was born June 3, 1954, in Youngstown, a son of Arthur J. Sr. and Ann L. Harper Carter. He worked at LTV Steel Co. until 1979 and previously had worked at Brentwood Originals.
An East High School graduate, he was leader of the local band The Art of Music. He was a member and minister of music at Old Glory Church.
Besides his mother of Youngstown, he leaves two sons, Arthur J. III and James A., both of Youngstown; two sisters, Aileen Stevens of Youngstown and Lottie Carter of Columbus, Ga.; and a granddaughter.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Antioch Baptist Church, where there will be a musical tribute from 6 to 7 p.m. Arrangements are by Black & amp; Phillips Funeral Home.
