JOSEPH L. RUSBACKY, 85
YOUNGSTOWN -- Services will be Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. in St. Christine Church for Joseph L. Rusbacky, 85, of Austinwoods Rehabilitation Center, formerly of Bears Den Road, who died of a heart ailment Wednesday morning in St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Mr. Rusbacky was born Feb. 5, 1916, in Youngstown, a son of Michael and Ann Ferenchak Rusbacky.
A 1935 graduate of East High School, he was a fitter for William B. Pollock Co. before retiring in 1980.
He was a member of the church and a World War II Army veteran. He also was a former member of VFW and Knights of Columbus and a member of the Baseball Oldtimers.
His first wife, Helen Granchay, whom he married Aug. 30, 1941, died Aug. 6, 1986. His second wife, the former Julia Remias, whom he married Feb. 14, 1990, died May 7, 1997.
He leaves a son, Thomas Rusback Sr. of Youngstown; a daughter, Carolyn Tomochek of Boardman; a stepson, Howard Remias, and a stepdaughter, Arlene Pavlechko, both of Canfield; two brothers, Stephen Rusbacky of Youngstown and John Rusbacky of Hubbard; a sister, Mary Razum in New York; and four grandchildren.
A brother, George, is deceased.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, where a Cursillo service will be at 8 p.m.
