IDA L. WHALEN, 96

YOUNGSTOWN -- Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at McClurkin Funeral Home, Girard, for Ida L. Whalen, 96, of 1216 Fifth Ave., who died of infirmities Feb. 18 in Park Vista Community Center.
Mrs. Whalen was born Feb. 20, 1905, in Girard, a daughter of William and Carrie Marty Deislinger, moving to California in 1963 and to Florida in 1982 and returning to Girard in 1986.
She was a homemaker, had worked for the Liberty Branch of Mahoning Bank and was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Girard.
Her husband, Harry L., whom she married Sept. 8, 1936, died July 13, 1999.
She leaves a daughter, Janet L. Blaney of Santa Ana, Calif.; and two grandsons.
Four brothers, Harry W., Carl F., John E. and Robert G. Deislinger, and five sisters, Ella M., Esther M., Naomi M. and Clara E. Deislinger and Florence M. Moore, are deceased.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until time of services Saturday at the funeral home.
