Anniversaries of sisters and husbands represent 160 years of marriage
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph L. Paskey of 255 Neff Drive, Canfield, Mr. and Mrs. John Zelina of 1810 Wingate Road, Boardman, and Mr. and Mrs. Glen Zinz, 4062 St. Andrews Court, Canfield, joined each other along with their families as they celebrated 52, 53 and 55 years of marriage, respectively, at family dinners marking each occasion. The women are sisters.
Mr. Paskey and the former Doris Kucheruk were married May 28, 1949, at St. John Orthodox Church in Campbell. Their family includes two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jeffrey Paskey of Westerfield and Mark and Laura Paskey of Larkspur, Colo., and two grandchildren.
He served in the U.S. Navy amphibian branch during World War II and retired in November 1986 from LTV Corp. after 34 years of service as a heat-treat operator.
Mrs. Paskey retired in December 1995 from Farmers National Bank in Canfield, where she was a mortgage loan officer. The couple belong to Canfield Presbyterian Church.
The former Olga Kucheruk and Mr. Zelina were married June 5, 1948, at St. John Orthodox Church. Their children and their spouses are Barbara and the Rev. John Matusiak of Palos Park, Ill.; Deborah and Dr. Ramiro Albarran of Boardman; Laura and Ronald Strollo of Columbus; and Maureen and Dr. John Koval of Poland. Eight grandchildren complete their family.
Mr. Zelina is a World War II veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He retired from Youngstown Sheet and Tube Co. in September 1977, where he was a foreman. He also worked at Mahoning National Bank as a supervisor in the cash room, retiring in August 1993. He is a member of the Campbell O Club.
His wife was a teller at Farmers National Bank prior to retiring in December 1989.
The Zelinas belong to St. John Orthodox Church, where she is a member of St. John's Sisterhood and the Orthodox Women's Society, and he belongs to the Orthodox Men's Society.
Married June 1, 1946, at St. John the Baptist Church in Campbell, the family of Mr. Zinz and the former Laura Kucheruk includes their children and their spouses, Richard and Kathie Zinz of Austintown, Jim Zinz of Robinson, Ill., and Gary and Carla Zinz of Ellsworth, and four grandchildren.
Mr. Zinz is the owner of Zinz Floor Covering in Austintown and is a member of Youngstown Saxon Club Branch 30 and Meander Lodge.
His wife retired in 1992 from the Cornersburg branch of Farmers National Bank, where she was an assistant cashier and assistant manager.
The couple are members of Redeemer Lutheran Church.
