YOUNGSTOWN CIC Downtown improvement

The city's downtown agency, the Youngstown Central Area Community Improvement Corp., handled these items Tuesday:
Recommended a five-year plan for the downtown to the city. The city planning commission and council will have public hearings and must vote for approval before the plan can be carried out.
Asked that CIC and city officials gather soon to finish a languishing plan to barricade some dangerous downtown buildings. Mayor George M. McKelvey said his administration would make that happen as soon as possible.
Granted the city another 60 days, through August, to review a CIC proposal to renovate the Kress building into new municipal court space. The group also talked about putting a new roof on the Kress building before winter if the court proposal isn't accepted.
Talked in closed session about possible legal action over construction of the Higbee parking lot and CIC's ownership stake in the Erie Terminal building.
