Anderson-Birt wedding plans are announced

BOARDMAN -- Paul R. and Janice Harper, 6758 West Blvd., are announcing plans for the forthcoming marriage of their son, Shannon S. Birt, 6800 Alpha Drive, Kent, and Kara Anderson, 585 State St., Conneaut, daughter of Robert and Patricia Anderson, 506 Main St., Conneaut.
First United Methodist Church in Conneaut has been chosen for the couple's open ceremony to take place at 2 p.m. Oct. 20. A reception by invitation will be held afterward at the American Legion Hall in Conneaut.
The bride-elect holds a bachelor's degree in education from Kent State University and is a fourth-grade teacher at Lake View Elementary School in Conneaut.
Mr. Birt is studying psychology at the University of Akron and teaches instrumental music at Soundboard Music Academy in Stow.
