Megan Gillis, Mr. Thornton to wed in August

Announcement of the engagement of Megan Gillis and Gerald Thornton Jr. is being made by the bride's mother and stepfather, Deborah and Gerald Guterba, 9400 N. Lima Road, Poland, and her father, Thom Gillis, Pinellas Park, Fla., and the groom's parents, Debbie Depietro, Youngstown, and Gerald Thornton, 2327 Bedford Road, Lowellville.
Invitations will be extended for the couple's afternoon wedding and reception planned for Aug. 25 at the Barn and Gazebo Ltd. in Salem.
Miss Gillis graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
The prospective groom is a maintenance technician at Commercial Turf Products in Streetsboro.
