YOUNGSTOWN -- The wedding of Tara Denise Wilson and Joseph Cornell Sydney took place at 5 p.m. June 1 at Union Baptist Church.
The Rev. Michael Harrison Sr. solemnized the ceremony for the daughter of Denise Laughlin, 422 W. Myrtle Ave., and the son of Denise Sydney, 253 Alameda Ave.
A reception was held afterward at Mr. Anthony's in Boardman.
The couple are living at 5275 Pinetree Lane, Boardman.
The bride wore a white sleeveless gown designed with a fitted bodice and full skirt of layered tulle. It was trimmed with embroidered flowers.
Alisa Hardin Laney and Tawana Robinson were honor attendants. They wore gold gowns. Gowned in burgundy were the bridesmaids, Gerilyn Taylor and Faith Harris-Jefferson. Flower girls were Lauryn Laney and Desir & eacute; Jefferson.
Best man was the groom's cousin, Jason Harris, and serving as groomsmen were Lorne Laney, Dan Spivey and Larry Forney. Ring bearers were Nigel Baldwin and Bobby Jefferson.
Also participating were Beverly Fortune; Charmaine Lindsey, the bride's aunt; Malinda Jones; and Jacquelin Frommelt.
Mrs. Sydney is pursuing a bachelor's degree in elementary education at Youngstown State University and is a self-employed child-care provider.
Her husband is employed as a mechanic at Greenwood Chevrolet in Hubbard.
