AUSTINTOWN -- The wedding of Melissa M. Fynes and Theodore Schmitt took place at 2 p.m. May 19 at Austintown Community Church.
The bride is a daughter of M. Kathryn Fynes and George Fynes, both of Girard. Mr. Schmitt is a son of John and Elizabeth Cunningham of Glenn Mills, Pa.
The Rev. David Roberts officiated, and a reception followed at Willow Creek in Girard.
After a honeymoon trip to the Virgin Islands, the couple are living in Youngstown.
An off-the-shoulder gown of organza and tulle was worn by the bride. It featured short sleeves and a cathedral train.
Jessica Fynes, the bride's sister, was maid of honor, and bridesmaids were Julie Pollock, the bride's cousin; Jami Joshua; Jennifer Maselli; Danielle Mastren; and Jacqui Schmitt, the groom's sister. They wore buttercup yellow gowns. Flower girl was MacKenzie Mastren.
The duties of best man were performed by Bill McCausland, and serving as groomsmen were Frank Marcigliano, Wayne Schraeder, Garry Mintz, D.J. Walker and Don Forcey.
Mrs. Schmitt attended Youngstown State University and is a secretary at Premier Hydraulics in Farrell, Pa.
Her husband graduated from Pennsylvania State University and is employed by the government.
