BESSEMER, Pa. -- Karen Thompson, 441 Manchester Ave., Youngstown, and Chad McConnell, 232 W. Beechwood Road, were married by the Rev. Eugene McConnell, the groom's uncle, at 3:30 p.m. May 26 at First Covenant Church.
A reception at the Operating Engineers Hall in Boardman honored the daughter of Barb Summerlin, 3410 Flo-Lor Drive, Youngstown, and Richard Thompson, Greenville, Pa., and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl McConnell of the Beechwood Road address.
The bride was escorted by her mother and her brother, Christopher Thompson.
After a honeymoon trip to Florida, the newlyweds live at the bride's address.
Mrs. McConnell attended Youngstown State University and graduated from St. Elizabeth Health Center School of Nursing, Youngstown. A registered nurse, she is director of nursing for Prison Health Services at Mahoning County Justice Center, Youngstown.
A graduate of St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing, New Castle, Pa., he is a registered nurse at the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Elkton.
The bride's ivory satin gown was styled with a princess panel skirt.
Valerie Wengler was honor attendant and wore a lavender dress. Junior bridesmaid was Stefanie Anderson, the groom's cousin, and flower girl was Mikyla Kamzelski, the bride's goddaughter.
James Nelson was best man, and groomsman was Teegan Kamzelski, the bride's nephew. Ring bearers were Kyle and Alex Thompson, her nephews, and Kyle Anderson, the groom's cousin, ushered.
