FUND-RAISER JCC event will feature golf and tennis



Golfers and tennis players will have the opportunity to compete for a variety of prizes.
YOUNGSTOWN -- The third annual Golf and Tennis Classic to be sponsored by the Jewish Community Center on Gypsy Lane will take place July 16 at Squaw Creek Country Club in Vienna.
On the course: The golf segment of the event will include putting contests, registration and a warm-up followed by lunch at 11:30 a.m. Play will begin at 1 p.m. with a shotgun start.
Golfers will be competing for a variety of prizes, including a winter weekend at the Greenbriar Resort in West Virginia and a ski weekend at Holiday Valley.
There will be prizes for the top-scoring foursomes, hole gifts and an auction to be held during the dinner.
The entry fee for golfers is $150 and $125 for spouses. The fee includes use of the range, lockers and shower facilities, a cart, lunch, cocktails and snacks, a raffle ticket and dinner.
On the court: Tennis players may register for mixed doubles. They may sign up with a partner or can be paired with other singles. The entry fee is $75 for a player and $50 for a spouse. The fee includes court time, starting at 3:30 p.m. after registration and warm-up, refreshments and beverages at court side, a raffle ticket and participation in an auction.
The fee for nonplayers is $50 and includes use of the swimming pool and dinner, or dinner alone.
