COLUMBUS Pringle inducted into Coaches HOF

The Trumbull County native has a career record of 517-202.
COLUMBUS -- The Ohio High School Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association inducted Dan Pringle into the Coaches State Hall of Fame recently.
Pringle, a Leavittsburg High graduate, participated in baseball, basketball and track in high school. He was signed to a baseball contract with the Cleveland Indians farm team in 1948; however, he was released following spring.
After serving in Korea, he attended Youngstown College, earning an ABA with a major in accounting. A retired member of the National Association of Accountants, Dan was certified as an Administrative Manager in 1974 by the National Administrative Management Society. He retired as treasurer from the Stambaugh Thompson Co. in 1988.
Pringle's coaching career covered 36 years in youth baseball and softball, including 29 years in girls softball.
For nine years he was head coach at Mineral Ridge and Niles and served as assistant coach at Poland for one year. Pringle was also assistant athletic director at Mineral Ridge from 1988-95.
As a member of the Northeast Ohio Coaches Association since 1983, he served as treasurer for four years. He also was treasurer of the Mineral Ridge Youth Association for six years and treasurer and commissioner of the Ohio State Girls' Softball Organization.
In 1992, Pringle received an award from the Warren YWCA for outstanding contributions to girls and women in sports. He was also awarded the Trumbull County Coaches Award four times.
His coaching record is 517-202, which includes a 260-116 record in high school.
Pringle coached Mineral Ridge to six Inter-County League Championships, 10 consecutive sectional championships, seven district championships, two regional championships, one state runner-up finish and one state championship.
Since 1998, he has served as an assistant coach at Mineral Ridge.
