Amateur radio classes
YOUNGSTOWN -- Mahoning Valley Amateur Radio Association will conduct amateur radio classes for six weeks beginning July 11 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the ITT Technical Institute, 1030 N. Meridian Road.
The classes will help students learn basic radio theory in preparation for taking a Ham Radio license exam.
Students successfully passing this exam will earn an entry-level license from the Federal Communications Commission. License exams will be given Aug. 22 at the conclusion of the course to students taking the classes. The classes are free, but students will be required to purchase a study guide for $15 at the first class.
