Shreves to mark 50th anniversary with their family



WESTERVILLE -- Dr. and Mrs. Robert P. Shreve, 742 Pepper Court, formerly of Austintown, who were married June 16, 1951, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary during a family gathering to be held in July at an area resort.
Mrs. Shreve, the former Dolores Harrison, graduated from Denison University and was a member of the original faculty at Market Street School in Boardman.
Dr. Shreve, a graduate of Youngstown State, Kent State and Case Western Reserve universities, served three years with the U.S. Navy. He taught at Austintown Fitch High School, was the first principal at Lynn-Kirk Elementary School, and was a supervisor in the Niles and Youngstown school districts. He was superintendent of Mahoning County Schools and Mahoning County Joint Vocational School District and served on the faculty at YSU.
The couple are charter members of Westview Church of Christ in Austintown. They have three sons, David Shreve of Columbus, Charles Shreve of Cary, N.C., and Paul Shreve of Westerville, and four grandchildren.
