Mashika jubilee marked by trip and family dinner

AUSTINTOWN -- A family dinner took place June 9 at Alberini's restaurant, Niles, to honor the 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. John Mashiska, 74 Kleber Ave.
The couple also took a trip in April to Hawaii and San Francisco to mark the occasion.
The former Beverly Burk and Mr. Mashiska exchanged marriage vows during a ceremony June 9, 1951, at St. Columba Cathedral in Youngstown.
Their children and spouses are Lynn and Samuel Yovanovich of Boardman and John and Nancy Mashiska and Phyliss and Michael Miller, all of Austintown.
Six grandchildren complete the family.
Mrs. Mashiska is a homemaker.
Retiring in 1984, Mr. Mashiska worked at Youngstown Steel Door Co. He is a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and Austintown Touchdown Club. A Korean War veteran, he was a quartermaster in the U.S. Army.
