YOUNGSTOWN -- Caritas Communities, a partnership of Catholic Charities Housing Opportunities and Humility of Mary Housing Inc., said a new playground will be constructed between noon and 3 p.m. Saturday at Eastwood Village.
The 152-unit apartment complex providing affordable housing on the East Side was remodeled in 1998 through a tax credit project.
The playground will include a large commercial-grade modular unit with slides, tubes, platforms and climbing apparatus.
Funding for the equipment was provided by Dominion East Ohio, the Youngstown Foundation, the Raymond John Wean Foundation, Bank One and Mahoning Valley Sports Charities Inc.
The AFL-CIO Union Counselors are volunteering their time and labor on the project.
No trash until 2 p.m.for Girard residents
GIRARD -- City residents are being asked by the administration not to put their trash at the curb until 2 p.m. Thursdays for the Friday collections.
