Grischows renew vows for 50th anniversary

AUSTINTOWN -- Mr. and Mrs. Ernest W. Grischow, 3902 Cumberland Drive, were honored June 9 at a gathering at their home in celebration of their golden wedding anniversary. The couple are renewing their vows today at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Youngstown.
Hosts for the celebration were the couple's daughter and son-in-law, Holly and Jim Gifford of Austintown.
Mr. Grischow and the former Bette J. Stiles were married June 9, 1951, at the church where they continue as members. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and was stationed in Greenland. He retired in 1991 from Ameritech after 40 years of service as an engineer. He is a member of the church council and serves as a deacon.
His wife is a bookkeeper at J.N. Pincus Co. in Youngstown and belongs to the church Ladies' Aid and a card club.
The Grischows also are members of the Immanuel Senior Up-Beats. They plan to further celebrate the occasion with a trip to Las Vegas this fall.
