IAAP DIVISION Joan Giba is president-elect of administrative professionals



The Youngstown resident is a member of Yo-Mah-O Chapter.
CLEVELAND -- Joan E. Giba of Youngstown was installed as president-elect of the Ohio Division, International Association of Adminstrative Professionals, during a meeting May 18-20 at the Sheraton Cleveland Centre Hotel.
She will serve for the 2001-2002 term.
As a member of Yo-Mah-O Chapter of IAAP since 1991, Mrs. Giba has served as president and president-elect twice, vice president, recording secretary and as chairman of various committees. Her Ohio Division responsibilities have included serving as vice president, recording secretary and chairwoman of the Ohio Division annual meeting in 1998 and serving on the Ohio Division Certified Professional Secretary committee. In 1999 she was the Northeast Ohio Local Area Networking coordinator.
Background: For 12 years Mrs. Giba has been project manager and office manager of International Towers in Youngstown. She became a certified housing manager in 1990 and attained the National Assisted Housing Professional Executive rating in 1994 and the Certified Professional Secretary designation in 1997. She is serving her seventh term on the board of trustees of Midwest Affordable Housing Management Association.
Mrs. Giba and her husband, John, have two children and four grandchildren.
Yo-Mah-O Chapter won an award for the most chapter attendance.
