Schmidts feted today at picnic for anniversary

NORTH LIMA -- Mr. and Mrs. James A. Schmidt Jr. of Sharrott Road are being honored today at a family picnic at East Palestine Park on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary.
Hosts for the celebration are their children, Judi Bell of New Middletown, Dave Schmidt of North Lima, Tom Schmidt of Petersburg and Pam and Bruce Mills of New Springfield. Nine grandchildren complete their family.
Mr. Schmidt and the former Helen Groner were married July 29, 1951, at her parents' home in Columbiana.
Now retired, Mr. Schmidt worked at Ohio Edition. He also served in the Navy Reserves.
Mrs. Schmidt is retired from Phar-Mor Corp.
