REFERENDUM Lawrence County

Organizers of a petition drive to put a referendum on the Nov. 6 ballot need 1,275 signatures.
If enough signatures are gathered by Aug. 7, voters will decide if they want to convene a study commission to look at alternative forms of county government.
The study commission would meet for nine months, then come back to voters with a recommendation in the next general election.
