Feed-grinder accidentclaims life of man
JAMESTOWN, Pa. -- The death of a 51-year-old man whose body was found in the bin of a feed grinder at 123 Sherbondy Road has been ruled accidental.
Larry E. Stevenson was pronounced dead at his farm at 1:18 a.m. Thursday by deputy coroner Cris J. Loutzenhiser. State police put the time of death between 7:30 and 11:45 p.m. Wednesday. The cause of death is environmental asphyxiation caused by inadequate oxygen in the agricultural feed grinder that Stevenson was working on.
Safety breaks on I-80
OIL CITY, Pa. -- PennDOT and the Interstate 80 Welcome Center will conduct safety breaks from 10 a.m. to noon Mondays at the center, beginning this week.
The event offers motorists a chance to take a break from driving and learn about how to be a more safety conscious driver. Free coffee will be available.
At the welcome center, motorists can make hotel reservations and look up information on some of Pennsylvania's largest attractions.
Man dies in collision
WARREN -- One man was killed and another seriously injured in a one-car collision in the 1100 block of North Road S.E. about 1:40 a.m. Saturday.
Police said the vehicle was speeding north when the 23-year-old driver apparently lost control on a curve and struck a pole near Adrian Drive. His 25-year-old passenger was killed. Police did not release names of the victims pending notification of relatives.
Divers call off search
GUILFORD LAKE -- Mahoning County Sheriff's Department's divers called off the underwater search for Tracy Hill around 7:45 p.m. Saturday night. Officers were not sure when the lake-wide search for the missing 24-year-old Middleton Township woman, last seen June 7, would resume.
Annual poker run
SOUTHINGTON -- The 22nd Zodiac Riders Motorcycle Club Annual Corn Roast and Poker Run will be Aug. 18 at American Legion Post 7451, Warren Burton Road.
Prizes, trophies and food are available. Registration begins at 5 p.m. and the first bike will start the run at 6 p.m. The cost is $5 with an American Motorcyclists Association district card and $6 without.

Motorcycle event
LORDSTOWN -- The 8th annual Honda-Harley Tug of War Challenge will be Aug. 11 at Dairy Queen, 6780 Rod Ave.
The event is a Gold Wings Road Riders Association Meandering Wings annual motorcycle cruise-in and bike show. All makes and models are welcome.
Registration will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m. the day of the event. First-, second- and third-place trophies will be awarded in touring, cruising, custom, trike and antique. Trophies also will be awarded for Mayor's choice, Dairy Queen choice, people's choice and best of show.
A 50-50 raffle will be held for Forum Health Tod Children's Hospital. Activities include a pro-stock bike burnout, silent auction, music by Keen Geen and door prizes. Registration is required to participate in events.
