CANFIELD -- The Steel Valley Cluster dog shows will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday through Aug. 5 at the Canfield Fairgrounds. Admission is free. About 4,000 dogs -- 167 breeds -- from throughout the United States and Canada will participate each day in Best of Breed and Best of Show competitions.
After Friday's Best of Show, the AKC Canine Health Foundation and the Steel Valley Cluster will be host for a Grandstand Picnic sponsored by Pedigree Food for Dogs. Tickets are $8 per person and include a meal, raffle ticket and concert by jazz and swing band Top Notes. Tickets may be bought at the Canine Health Foundation booth during the day and at the door. Proceeds will benefit the AKC Canine Health Foundation.
In addition, the Beaver County Kennel Club will hold an AKC Sanctioned "B" Puppy Match on Saturday evening. Judging will begin after Best of Show.
The Steel Valley Cluster is composed of Fort Steuben Kennel Association, Columbiana County Kennel Club, Beaver County Kennel Club and Mahoning-Shenango Kennel Club.
