ANASTASIA KARABATSOSJAMES SIATRAS
YOUNGSTOWN -- St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church was the setting at 3:30 p.m. June 30 for the wedding of Anastasia Karabatsos, a daughter of the Very Rev. John and Katina Karabatsos of Canfield and the son of Dr. and Mrs. Van Siatras of Boardman.
His Eminence Metropolitan Maximos presided at the ceremony and was assisted by the bride's father along with the Very Rev. George Pappas, and the Revs. Photios Tomarakos, Anthony Demetri and Andrew Kolitsos.
After a reception at the Holiday Inn MetroPlex Centre in Liberty, the couple left on a wedding trip to Aruba. They live in Columbus.
The bride's princess-style gown featured a sweetheart neckline and a cathedral train and was enhanced with Venise lace and pearls.
Ivory gowns were worn by Francine Dimitriou, honor attendant, and the bridesmaids, Angela Coutris, Matula Polychronis, Tonie Spirtos, and Paula Politis. Junior bridesmaid was Elizabeth Mikulka, and Kali and Maria Yallourakis, were flower girls.
Best man was Nicholas Siatras, and groomsmen were Ted Karabatsos, Tedd Karabatsos, Leo Spirtos, and John Lagoutaris. Stefana bearer was Nicholas Galouzis and ring bearer was Michael Yallourakis.
Koumbara was Thelma Spirtos.
The bride received her bachelor's degree in combined sciences from Youngstown State University and her master's in anatomy and medical education from the Ohio State University.
The groom earned a bachelor's degree in biology from YSU and is pursuing a master's degree in anatomy and medical education at OSU.
