As he prepares to take on former Philadelphia Mayor Edward G. Rendell for Democratic nomination for governor, Casey's biggest asset could be Rendell himself. A number of influential Democrats, mainly labor union leaders, political financiers and neighborhood leaders disappointed by Rendell during his eight years as mayor, have endorsed Casey.
