Four youths charged in vandalism at school

CAMPBELL -- Four Campbell boys are being held without bond in the Mahoning County Juvenile Justice Center pending trial Aug. 2 on vandalism-related charges.
They are accused of using forklifts and an earthmover to cause at least $5,000 damage to the elementary/middle school being built on state Route 616, police said.
The youths, a 12-year-old, a 13-year-old and two 15-year-olds, broke into a construction trailer between 6 and 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and stole portable radios and tools, said Detective Sgt. John Constantino.
They also found keys to the construction equipment and used the vehicles to topple a brick wall. Some vehicles were damaged after being stuck in mud.
The group was arrested Friday after a mother of one of the youths discovered a stolen radio in her home and called police.
They each face charges of criminal trespassing, vandalism, theft, receiving stolen property and breaking and entering.
The youths names were not released by police.
