CAR WASHES
XBoardman Band Flagline will hold a car wash from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Chili's in the Southern Park Mall parking lot and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Pizza Hut at Route 224 and South Avenue.
CONCERTS
XCalvary Baptist Church, 1463 Shields Road, Boardman, will sponsor a carillon concert and ice cream social at 6 p.m. Sunday (rain date will be Aug. 12) on the church lawn. Anyone is welcome, and a freewill offering will be taken. Those attending should take lawn chair or blankets.
CRAFT SHOWS
XA Christmas in July craft show is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at Glenview Village Nursing Home, 3379 Main St., (Route 46), Mineral Ridge. The outdoor event, which will be held rain or shine, will have more than 100 crafters and vendors. There will be music and raffles. There is free admission and parking. XQuilt Angels will hold a sewing fabric, quilt and craft sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 4 at Austintown First United Methodist Church, Turner Road and Mahoning Avenue. Table rental is $5. For information call Patti Murphy at (330) 793-9570.
FESTIVALS
XVFW Post 6488, 2065 Coitsville-Hubbard Road, Youngstown, will sponsor its annual luau from 1 p.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday at the post. Donation is $8. FUND-RAISERS
XThe Northeast Ohio Chapter of the ALS Association will hold a kickoff luncheon for the second annual Walk to D'Feet ALS from noon to 1:30 p.m. Aug. 3 at the Holiday Inn in Fairlawn, I-77 and Route 18. The luncheon is free and open to anyone interested in learning more about how to participate. The walk will be held at 9 a.m. Oct. 21 at Cuyahoga Community College to support local services for ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) patients and their families. There is no entry fee to participate, but walkers are asked to collect pledges from family, friends and co-workers. Those who collect $100 or more in pledges will receive a T-shirt.
