WIC gives baby showers
YOUNGSTOWN -- In celebration of World Breastfeeding Week and Breastfeeding Awareness Month, the YACAC-Mahoning County WIC Program will hold baby showers for pregnant, breast-feeding and postpartum WIC participants.
The showers will include information on breast-feeding and immunizations, as well as games, prizes, refreshments, handouts and drawings to win baby items.
The event will be at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 2 at the Struthers WIC site, 156 Smithfield Road, and at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 3 at the Mill Community Center, 496 Glenwood Ave.
Yoga instructor returns
YOUNGSTOWN -- Yoga, a full moon, a gourmet vegetarian dinner. That will be the setting for the return Aug. 4 of Dr. Usha Sundaramat at Pioneer Pavilion in Mill Creek Park. She is a yoga teacher from Bangalore, India, who is visiting Youngstown for the fourth time. Christian music fest
YOUNGSTOWN -- The annual Jammin' for Jesus Music Fest will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Centenary United Methodist Church, 1413 Belmont Ave. The church, along with the Jericho Project and the Lost Then Found Ministries, will be the hosts. The main speaker will be Pastor Rafael Cruz of the Jericho Project. The free event offers music, food and games. Security guards will be in attendance. For more information, call (330) 755-5207.
