Rosens honored at reception for 50th anniversary

STRUTHERS -- Mr. and Mrs. Carl D. Rosen of 140 Renee Drive were the guests of honor July 8 at a celebration at The Elm Tree in celebration of their golden wedding anniversary.
The couple renewed their marriage vows and received a special blessing at the event.
Hosts for the observance were the couple's children and their spouses, Margaret and Robert Giura, Daniel and Kathy Rosen and Ray and Jodi Rosen, all of Struthers; John and Rhonda Rosen of Columbus; Bob and Mary Rosen of Cuyahoga Falls; Ann and Jason Maenz of Salem; and Mary and John Balestra of Boardman. Seventeen grandchildren complete their family. A grandson is deceased.
The former Margaret A. Blanchard and Mr. Rosen were married July 14, 1951, at St. Ann Church in Manchester, N.H. They are members of St. Nicholas Church.
Mrs. Rosen is a homemaker and has served on many church and community organizations. She was active with the Red Cross blood drive and ecumenical food program, and is a eucharistic minister and a precinct committee chairwoman.
Her husband retired in 1979 after 32 years as a roll turner for Youngstown Sheet & amp; Tube Co. He was an active member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society for many years and coached Little League baseball. He is an usher at the church. He also served in the U.S. Navy from 1945-48.
